Corporate Partnership with Boots
The Eve Appeal is thrilled to announce that huge high street health and beauty retailer Boots The Chemists are supporting us as part of their women’s cancer campaign. Boots have always been a conscientious retailer with strong community links, committed to giving women and their families the best healthcare advice and emotional support they can, and when they wanted to turn their attention to raising money and awareness for women’s cancer causes, they came to The Eve Appeal.
Boots know that cancer is a massive concern for women and their families and were shocked when they learned that over 75% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will die. They wanted to help raise money and awareness for The Eve Appeal in supporting our aims of finding new techniques to increase the survival rates of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Their support kicked off with the sale of the beautiful Eve Appeal pin badge which went into stores on the 7th May 2007 and were on sale until June.
But their support didn't stop there. In 2007 Boots hosted a glittering ball for their suppliers in June, with the proceeds raised, including from an auction and raffle, going to The Eve Appeal and Breast Cancer Care. Read more about the ball here (link to external website).
There was also a stunning Eve Appeal bracelet for sale in stores throughout July and August 2007, and The Eve Appeal has also benefited from the sale of charity Christmas cards. In 2007 alone, Boots raised £350 000 for The Eve Appeal.
2008
In 2008 Boots has already put in store a fantastic new heart shaped pin badge and key ring.
Now available from all Boots stores from June to mid August 2008 are these fun and funky silver heart phone charms, suggested donation £1.
From the beginning of April and throughout all stores from June 100% reusable canvas bags are on sale where 15% of the selling price of £3 is donated across The Eve Appeal, Breast Cancer Care and Action Breast Cancer.

Professor Ian Jacobs, said of the partnership.
“I am delighted that Boots has chosen to support The Eve Appeal and to help raise funds for our research programme. This will be a major boost to our efforts to make badly needed advances in prevention, screening and treatment so as to save the lives of the thousands of women each year who develop ovarian cancer. In addition to assisting with funding, the involvement of Boots will be an important contribution to efforts to provide information and increase awareness of this terrible disease.”
