The research we fund aims to improve the prevention, detection, treatment and care of all five gynaecological cancers: 

• Cervical
• Ovarian
• Vaginal
• Vulval
• Womb (also known as cancer of the uterus, endometrial cancer, or uterine cancer)

The majority of our funding is allocated to the pioneering, world-class research group at the Department of Women's Cancer at University College London (UCL).

Gynaecological cancers kill women and destroy families.  Globally there are around one million new cases a year - just 200,000 fewer than the number diagnosed with breast cancer.   And of these new cases, over 850,000 women die.  In the UK over 19,000 women are diagnosed annually and some 7,000 die. Despite these grim statistics, gynaecological cancers are neither a well-profiled nor a well-funded cause. The Eve Appeal is determined to change this.
