The Great Wall of China Trek 2007
In 2007 The Eve Appeal organised its first ever overseas adventure challenge in partnership with the Cancer Vaccine Institute. The trip was a great success.
12 participants left the UK on the 19th September to trek for 6 days over some very tough and steep terrain covering over 70km. The trek took place along the Great Wall (both old and new parts) and also took in a local mountain and National Park.
The walking was certainly hard, but the spectacular views, friendly local support and magnificent trekking team made it all worthwhile; as did raising over £30,000 for cancer research.
Plans are now being considered for a similar challenge in September 2009. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the office.
