Gynaecological Cancer
Research Unit

Based at University College London, the Gynaecological Cancer Research Unit has been established to support research into gynaecological cancers. It comprises the Gynaecological Cancer Research Centre and the Gynaecological Cancer Research Laboratories, and forms part of the first ever Institute for Women’s Health in the UK.

This internationally recognised team is led by Professor Ian Jacobs, who is one of the world’s foremost gynaecological oncologists. Expertise within the Unit encompasses surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, nursing, counselling, pathology, radiology, basic and applied research and psychosocial research.

The Unit is undertaking a major research drive towards reducing the suffering and loss that is caused from gynaecological cancers.

Their pioneering research, including ground-breaking work into ovarian cancer, is world leading - and the potential benefits will have a far reaching effect on the future well being of all women and their families around the world.
