Helen Navaro's TEA Party
"Our TEA party was held at Christ Church in Little Lever, Bolton and was incredibly well supported by the congregation, family and friends. The total raised, so far, comes to £321 which was even more impressive given that this was over only two hours.
We sold red-themed cakes and biscuits, held a raffle, tombola and 'Guess the weight of the chocolates' as well as chocolate-themed quizzes.Basically, it was all to do with anything that wasn't good for you (ie cakes, biscuits and chocolates) - but for a good cause!!"
L’OREAL LLANTRISTANT TEA Party
On Friday 14th March, the Llantrisant site held a Tea Party, with the theme being A Touch of Red. There were delicious home made cakes to eat and all that was asked was a small donation. Of course, the staff could not be let off so lightly so they also held a raffle as well with some super prizes kindly
donated by CO-OP Retail, Porth and L’Oreal Llantrisant.A good time was had by all and an excellent £260.60 was raised. L’Oreal’s Charity Committee generously agreed to raise this to £500.00.
Yvonne & Rod Henkun's TEA Party
Yvonne & Rod lost their daughter Sarah to ovarian cancer in January 2007 aged just 34 years old. They held a tribute to her in January raising over £4,000 for cancer research and thier local hospice and following its success,
they decided to hold a TEA party to raise funds for The Eve Appeal. "The event was a great success. There were about 40 people that attended and we charged a £3 entry fee. We had a raffle, had 2 mediums giving readings and 3 therapists giving head massages. We also sold handmade silver jewellery of which we were generously allowed to keep 20% for the appeal. We also had lots of homemade cakes which we sold. Everyone had a great time, not least our dog, Logan, who was fed cake by everyone!"

In total, a staggering £1005 was raised for The Eve Apeal, which, in some way, seems to touch all our lives. As so much support and positive feed-back has been received about The Tea Party, we thought we might possibly do it again sometime!"

Sarah Stevenson's TEA Party
A fundraising event in aid of The Eve Appeal and in memory of Kathleen Thornton was held at Escape Studio at Barleylands craft village on the 16th March. The event raised over £1200 by offering a 15-minute beauty treatment, followed by tea served by Anne and Theresa’s lovely homemade cake! Sarah Stephenson, who organised the event after losing her mum to ovarian cancer in July 2007 would like to thank everyone who supported the day.
"A big thank you to: Theresa Nash, Anne Austen, Kirsten Holland, Louisa Smalley, Dean, Phoebe & George Stephenson, Alan Thornton, my sister Sophia, and to everyone who made donations and attended the day. Without you all, this day would not have been possible."
Alison Robert's & Sue Trevor's TEA Party
"What started out as a fleeting fancy for a cream cake became a full blown team effort by having a Tea Party for “charity”. Having seen the article in Woman & Home magazine that March 2008 was Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month we decided that we could donate the proceeds to The Eve Appeal.
In a short space of time we had plenty of interest and support. Our employer, the Audit Commission, supported the event by allowing us to set the display up in the office.
The day arrived and we were overwhelmed with the support and effort staff made – with our “Cake Expert” producing some particularly beautiful examples of her craft.
With a 10.30am start we caught mid-morning snackers and then onto lunch time munchers and afternoon tea addicts. We had colleagues contacting friends and family for orders to take away.
A great success with over £120 raised, we still had cakes and pins to last us for a few days more so the total is still growing!"
