The Lipstick Blondes Charity Ball
On November 10th, 2007, The Lipstick Blondes (www.lipstickblondes.com), an all female ski mountaineering team, held a charity ball at The Limply Stoke Hotel in Bath in recognition of their recent expedition and to raise money for The Eve Appeal. Squash Falconer, organiser of the Ball, was inspired to support the appeal after a very dear friend of hers, Lisa Favre, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The night was a huge success. The generous donations made to the raffle and the auction, coupled with the wonderful team of raffle ticket sellers & fantastic auctioneer, Stephen Jenkins, were key to raising the incredible amount of £6000 for the Eve Appeal. Squash Falconer said,
"I was really nervous about organising the ball and was so thrilled when we raised so much money. It was wonderful how many people supported me before & during the event. I am grateful to everybody who came and was part of it and would say to anyone who is thinking of organising a fund raising event, just go for it! It only takes one person with a good idea and a little motivation to turn a few pounds into a few thousand pounds."
Student Christmas Music Concert
One of our supporters, Ann Clewlow, organised a Christmas Music concert in aid of The Eve Appeal, in early December. They held a raffle, a guess the length of the scarf competition (which was 7.45 metres), and they also had pin badges on sale.
All in all, they raised an amazing total of £530.37 on the night. This was an exciting amount for them to raise, as it was £125 more than their previous concert.Ann would like to thank her accompanist on the night, Jonathan Price; Chris Clewlow, Phil Benge, Pauline Vincent and Kathryn Thomas for all of their support in organising the event; all those who donated prizes for the raffle, and especially her students who made the night what it was.
"We had a great time and are very pleased to support the Eve Appeal on this occasion."
Dance for Eve - in aid of The Eve Appeal
Dance for Eve, organised by sisters Rebecca Reynolds and Esther Rolands, was held at Foakes Hall, Dunmow, in mid October, 2007.
It was a great success, raising over £6,000 for The Eve Appeal. A huge thank you is due to Rebecca, Esther and their families for organising the night, and to all the individuals and companies who supported them to make this such a fantastic evening.
