I’ve spearheaded this campaign for three years because I passionately support the aims of the charity which are to help save lives through funding research into the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer.
And I have been inspired and moved by the amazing women I’ve met through The Eve Appeal.
They have faced ovarian cancer – a cancer which is diagnosed in some 7,000 women every year in the UKand which causes some 5,000 deaths annually. Survival rates are poor because early detection is difficult as the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are yet to be clearly identified and are easily mistaken for other, much more common and less serious conditions.
That’s why the work that The Eve Appeal does is so important. So – put the kettle on and invite a few friends round! It’s so easy ... so easy that I’ll be holding a tea party myself. Cheers!”
